Old and New Bonds
On Day 25, Richard and Sue celebrated their position in the game, whilst Kelly’s trust in the Tagi alliance started to waver. The remaining Pagongs felt disgusted for the lying incident at the previous night’s Tribal Council.
Meanwhile, while Richard was away fishing, Rudy, Gervase, and Sean started to notice that Richard may have a good position in the game by being the tribe’s provider. In a confessional, Sean realized that Richard might use his fishing skills as his crutch so that the tribe keeps him longer and don’t vote him out. But Richard rebutted in another confessional that his tribe provider position has nothing to do with the game, and he stressed that his strategic approach to the competition gets him by every day.
Later, Colleen felt uncomfortable when Richard started to prepare the fish for cooking (i.e. scaling the fish and finally slaying the stingrays).
“Do you see them bringing these stingrays and stuff in? They’re, like, still flapping around and they take this dull knife, and chop off their head. It’s disgusting. If I choose to watch my dinner that came from the sea be killed or not be killed, I would rather not watch it be killed. ”

While cooking the fish, Richard got irritated when Rudy haplessly cooked their food, with most of the catch either became half-cooked or overcooked. And for revenge, Richard decided to stop fishing for a while so that his tribemates can fully appreciate his contributions to the camp.
After a closely-contested challenge, Colleen ended up victorious, beating Kelly by seconds. Jeff then revealed that she can choose one tribe mate to join her at the reward. And with no hesitation, she picked Jenna. After the challenge, Jenna and Colleen enjoyed the barbecue that Jeff cooked himself, while the scene was constantly changing from the barbecue feast and back at Rattana camp, where the other tribe members were eating rice. During their feast, Jenna and Colleen discussed about the mysterious four votes that eliminated their former Pagong comrades Greg and Gretchen. And after much deliberation, they decided to make a counter-alliance, named the Barbecue Alliance, by bringing Gervase and possibly the Tagi outsider Sean to potentially break Richard’s pact. After the feast, Jeff handed them their letters from home, making Jenna extremely happy since she hadn’t received any news from them, adding up to the failure of having her own tape last episode. Jenna cried as she read the letters from her daughters aloud.
Day 27 – Back at Rattana camp, the remaining members greeted Richard for his 39th birthday. To celebrate, Richard decided to take all of his garments and walked around camp naked. Despite an outcry from Colleen and Jenna, Richard kept his promise and remained naked most of the morning.
