The Chicken Has Flown the Coop
Night 3
Reeling from Pat’s sudden evacuation, the David tribe returns to camp demoralized now they have lost one of their strongest members. While they had received their flint, there is no dry wood to start a fire with due to the seemingly endless rain.
Jessica

Today was rough. Pat was the morale booster around camp and to say goodbye to him just knocked us all down.
”
Desperate for fire, the tribe attempts to make one but to no avail. The rain only intensifies during the night, leaving both David and Goliath tribes struggling to huddle in their shelters, mostly sleepless.
Day 4
The torrential downpours continue the next day, and the Goliaths also fail in making fire. Angelina breaks down because of their helpless situation.

Since we started this game, we have been in a constant state of being wet, cold, and it’s crushing. Because it almost feels sometimes like, “is the end in sight?”

At David, Christian walks away from camp to collect more bamboo for their shelter. Nick volunteers to join him. In the woods, Nick expresses his relief to Christian, believing it would have been him voted out had they went to Tribal Council. In his confessional, Christian admits it would have been the case. The two make an alliance, with Nick calling themselves the “Mason-Dixon”.
Day 5
At the David camp, Carl realizes that voting Nick out would have been a bad idea now that they lost Pat. With the Davids down one member, it is imperative to win the next Immunity Challenge. He throws Lyrsa’s name to Nick, Bi, Jessica, and Elizabeth, citing her perceived weak physique. Elizabeth, who has made an alliance with Lyrsa, does not appreciate this and alerts Lyrsa. Furious at the idea of being called the weakest when she won the tribe the first Reward Challenge, Lyrsa is bent on voting Carl out.
At Tribal Council, the tribe agrees it was a very tough first six days, with the harsh weather being the main reason. Elizabeth remarks that the weather brought the tribe closer together. Jeff adds up to that, reminding them they also have to vote each other out. Jeff then asks Lyrsa how quickly the game has moved in six days, in which Lyrsa answers she is fully aware she is being targeted tonight. Jessica interjects, saying Lyrsa should not have waited till Tribal Council to strategize when the game begins the moment they hit the beach. Gabby understands Jessica’s sentiment, but she believes everyone is playing. Bi describes her vote as simply based on challenge performance and work ethic, though she is conscious that the criteria for voting people out will later get complicated. Nick explains the game is built around deceit and trust is rare. Jessica describes the vote as scary and exhilarating at the same time. Christian adds to Jessica’s statement, comparing the situation to a roller coaster ride; saying that while the person on the roller coaster is safe, the thrill of falling to death makes the ride exciting.
In the end, Bi, Carl, Davie, and Jessica all vote Lyrsa, but Christian and Nick side with Elizabeth, Gabby and Lyrsa, blindsiding Jessica in a 5-4 vote. Jessica Peet, the 19-year-old waitress from Lakeland, Florida becomes the first person voted out of Survivor: David vs. Goliath.
Challenges
Reward/Immunity Challenge: Another Brick in the Wall
One member from each tribe will climb a ladder using two rungs to retrieve a key. They will then use this key to unlock their boat. Five members of each tribe must then paddle out to retrieve bags of puzzle pieces. They will then return to shore where five castaways must balance a table and complete a block puzzle. The first tribe to finish their puzzle wins.
Reward: Fishing kit
Winner: Goliath
